We recommend using polyurethane for external mouldings that are exposed to sunlight and the elements, including window and door surrounds. Polyurethane does not chip or split like timber and will look good for years with minimal maintenance. Primed FJ pine may be used for mouldings under eaves and ceilings that are not exposed to the elements and direct sunlight. Both are able to be painted with external grade paints following the instructions from the paint manufacturer.
