Glue Adhesive and accessories

For ceiling applications use the Intrim Ultra intensive.

Architraves are glued to hold the 45 degree join together. Intrim Intense Grip Adhesive can be used to apply an 66mm wide x 18mm thick architrave without nails, however larger architraves are recommended to be nailed due to the weight. If window coverings are going to be installed directly onto the architrave, the glue only method will likely not be strong enough therefore will need to be nailed aswell to support the weight of the moulding and the window covering.

To create wainscoting you use both. Glue is applied on the back of the inlay mould lengths and glued to the wall where you will need to apply pressure for 10 seconds to the piece. If you need to move a piece of inlay mould after this you can but need to reapply 10 seconds of pressure. You then nail inlay mould pieces using short nails and fix nails on a slight angle to gain more holding power to the plaster while the glue dries. Intrim also has its own glue Intrim Intense Grip Adhesive available for purchase.  

The quantity of adhesive tubes you need depends on which Intrim adhesive you are buying and the quantity of your order. Outlined below is the estimated quantity of timber mouldings that require 1 tube of adhesive. If the quantity of timber you need is more, the quantity of adhesive tubes you have to order will increase accordingly.

When using our adhesive in cartridges such as the Intense Grip, Intense Hold or the Intense Power, should you find it difficult to dispense when using the caulking gun, we recommend that you place the adhesive cartridge into a tub or bucket of hot water for 5 – 10 minutes, as this makes the adhesive easier to dispense and apply.
