20th July 2022 Is Tasmania Oak the same as Vic Ash? Vic Ash and Tasmanian Oak are often used interchangeably. The major difference is the state in which the timber is grown, although Tasmanian Oak also includes Eucalyptus Obliqua (Messmate) in the mix of hardwood species, while Vic Ash only includes Eucalyptus Regnans (Mountain Ash) and Eucalyptus delegatensis (Alpine Ash).
