Step-by-step visual guide for installation of Cavetto Wall to existing wall

1 Measure height of wall section

To determine the length of Cavetto Moulding.

2 Measure length of wall section

To determine how many cavetto pieces are required.

A. Measure the wall width and divide it by 175mm = no of pieces

B. Each Cavetto Wall piece is 5400mm long. Divide your wall height by 5400mm to determine the number of pieces you can achieve per length. A 5400mm length in most standard ceiling heights will allow for 2 pieces per length.

Always ensure you allow for extra material in your order. We recommend no less than 15%

3 Measure and cut to the require length

Back cut 5 degrees on the bottom of the panel that sits on the skirting.

4 Rip a 45 degree cut on the groove edge of the profile

Design Tip: Start installing from the external corner by forming a mitre joint.

5 Align the 2 mitred panels

To the external corner.

6 Apply Intrim Intense Grip adhesive

To the rear face of the first piece of Cavetto moulding.

7 Install first piece of Cavetto

Align mitre join with an adjacent panel of moulding temporarily fixed to the wall in place.

8 Remove temporary corner panel apply glue

Apply PVA glue to the mitre only.

9 Install second piece to corner

Nail fix in position to form a neat mitre joint and secret nail the tongue to secure in place.

10 Install further panels until you reach the last piece.

If between two walls (internal corner) you will need to allow 2mm gap at each end to allow for expansion and contraction of boards.

11 Measure width of last piece

Rip down to suit.

12 Face fix the last end piece

Of the Cavetto Wall lining board.

13 Repeat process

To complete the other wall.

14 Sand sharp edge on front of external corner

The Cavetto Wall installation is complete and ready for painting.

Tips for installing Cavetto Wall

Tip 1

If between two walls you will need to allow 2mm at each end between the Cavetto panel and the wall surface. This will allow for the expansion and contraction of the boards and will prevent buckling.
