Bowral Country Getaway

You wouldn’t believe the transformation this gorgeous home has undergone over the past 6 months. Chloe Kim the owner and founder of Akka a creative studio based in Sydney, performed a miracle when renovating a dated house into a stunning country retreat. Inspired by “some magical place in Europe…we really leaned into traditional, French/English country aesthetics.” Chloe’s whole family helped with the renovation, driving down to Bowral from Sydney most weekends. They pulled off the renovation magnificently and all with the help of Intrim Mouldings. “Why did we choose Intrim? Because Intrim had the widest selection of quality wainscoting at affordable prices!” Inlay mould frames the kitchen cabinetry, was used in the bathroom as wainscoting and SK445 skirting boards was used throughout the home.

Kitchen Before & After

This kitchen has been completely transformed, moved from one side of the home to the other. Chloe – “We added two inlay mouldings (IN17 & IN19) to the kitchen cabinetry to exaggerate the extravagance and removed all handles where possible to make the moulding the central focus.”

Bathroom Before & After

In this bathroom, Chloe was clear on the vision. “We also added wainscoting to the bathroom to balance the tiles, which had heavy marble veins, with space that wasn’t tiled while keeping the walls interesting.” IN23 inlay and CR69 chair rail created the beautiful wainscoting.

Library

Originally the garage of this home it has been transformed into this beautiful library. SK445 skirting boards were used to frame the base of the bookcase making it a part of the wall.

Those Intrim SK445 skirting boards make a statement and the newly constructed wall transforming the dining area into a bedroom is genius!

Fireplace

SK445 skirting boards also feature around the base of this fireplace. Painting the skirtings in this soft green really makes the profile stand out and is a reminder that your skirting boards don’t need to be white!
