This inner Melbourne property is the masterpiece and residence of marketer and designer, Clara Martello from One Green Chameleon. Her extensive use of Intrim Inlay Mould IN32 (36x18mm FSC Certified) transformed the plain walls of the hallway into a stunning design feature. The Wainscoting moulding continues from the hallway into the living room to create a luxe and grand finish, while staying true to the era of the building. The decorative and visually appealing mouldings have transformed the spaces, creating a sense of structure that balances large surface areas to create harmony and respect the Spanish mission style exterior.
Situated in the charming, leafy inner north suburb of Ascot Vale, the 1920s two bedroom home was quickly transformed to suit a growing family and personalised to reflect their love for Spanish mission design. Pure Spanish mission was reflected through-out, chalky-white walls, super-high ceilings and arched hallway. 14 years on, the home was in need of a budget friendly refresh to suit the creative soul of designer, Clara Martello, her intention, adding character that would stand the test of time.
Inspired by the craft, character and grandeur of buildings of yesteryear, Clara focused her attention on the hallway and open living spaces, to create visual points of interest and to help balance out high ceilings and large blank surfaces.
The decorative elements add character, keep to restrained style but also suit modern day living for a young family of five.
