American Classic Renovation

This full home renovation in Pymble reimagines a solid but dated residence through the lens of American classic interior design. Led by interior designer Becc Burgmann, the project focused on renewing the interiors while respecting the home’s original framework. With the exception of the kitchen, the interior was fully gutted and rebuilt, allowing the existing structure to guide a more considered and contemporary layout.

Classic architectural detailing defines the updated interiors. VJ cathedral ceilings add height and texture, while wainscoting features throughout the home, adding visual structure and character. Intrim’s IN32 inlay mould paired with CR46 chair rail was used to craft these traditional wall details, reinforcing the American classic aesthetic and creating cohesion across living spaces.

The renovation included new flooring, fresh paint, decorative wall mouldings, updated lighting, and square-set ceilings, now used as a deliberate design feature rather than functional necessity. A new bar area was introduced for entertaining, alongside a spacious master walk-in robe. All bathrooms were completely renovated, incorporating Intrim’s SK60 skirting and architrave profile to maintain consistency and refinement.

A carefully curated palette, layered natural and ambient lighting, and parquetry flooring bring warmth and balance. Together, these elements deliver an interior that feels elegant, yet practical, blending traditional detailing with contemporary comfort for modern living.
