SK961

Made To Order Profile

Elegant French Provincial detailing with architectural presence

Bring refined European-inspired character to your interiors with the Intrim SK961 architrave profile -a beautifully sculpted moulding designed to frame doors, windows, and openings with sophistication and grandeur. Featuring generous proportions and flowing curves, SK961 delivers the decorative richness synonymous with luxurious interiors.

Perfectly suited to French Provincial and traditional European-inspired homes, SK961 features a prominent rounded top moulding, delicate stepped detailing, and a sweeping curved face that creates graceful shadow lines and architectural depth. The profile’s substantial 115mm width and 30mm thickness give it a commanding presence, making it ideal for homes where craftsmanship, scale, and refined detailing are integral to the overall design.

Featured as curved architraves in this breathtaking French Provincial residence, SK961 demonstrates how architectural mouldings can elevate a home with sophistication, scale, and authentic Provincial styling. Its flowing form enhances both traditional and contemporary interpretations of French-inspired interiors.

For a coordinated interior scheme, SK961 pairs beautifully with Intrim SK945B skirting board, creating a seamless connection between walls, floors, doors, and windows.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between skirting and architrave?

Skirting boards are installed along the base of walls to protect surfaces and create a clean transition between wall and floor, while architraves are used around doors and windows to frame openings. Many of our popular In‑Stock profiles are designed to be used for both, helping create a consistent, cohesive finish throughout your space.

What is the difference between primed and unprimed skirting and architraves?

Primed mouldings are coated with primer before leaving our factory. After installation, they only need painting with your final colour. This is fast becoming the preferred option as it saves time and money for the end user. Extra lead time must be allowed if you choose this option. Normally, it will add only a few days to your expected delivery date.

How do you install skirting boards and architraves?

To prepare timber skirting and architraves, you can explore our guide on how to install skirting boards. It involves a process of measuring and cutting the boards to size, before securing them to a wall.

How long is each length of skirting and architrave?

FJ Pine and MDF skirting and architrave are sold in lengths of 5.4 metres.

Are Skirting and Architrave the same profile?

Yes, every profile code can be used. The only difference is that the architrave typically will be of a smaller height when compared to the skirting of the same profile. For example, SK498 is a skirting and an architrave, but the latter will be smaller (66mm, 90mm, or 115 mm), while the former can have a height of up to 285mm.

How much skirting or architrave I will need?

To work this out accurately, you must measure the rooms, doorways and window frames. To learn how to do this, see the guide (how to measure skirting boards). We also offer a free take-off service for our account customers, which allows us to determine your requirements. Simply submit your project details, plans and window schedule. The minimum order quantity is 10 lengths. We recommend increasing your order slightly to allow for any wastage or damage. It is the most cost-effective option, instead of placing a top-up order if you underestimate your requirements.
