How Do I Choose The Right Skirting Thickness for Curved Walls?

Match skirting thickness to the curve’s radius – thinner boards bend more easily.

  • 18mm polyurethane: bends to 400mm radius
  • 24mm polyurethane: bends to 500mm radius

MDF options require larger radii (500mm–1800mm).

For tight curves, polyurethane is the most reliable choice. Intrim’s flexible polyurethane skirting, tested to bend to a 400mm radius and supplied in 5.1m lengths, creates a smooth, consistent finish on tight curves, staircases, and round feature walls with minimal joins. For a seamless result where curved and straight walls meet, make sure you order the flexible and standard skirtings at the same time.
