2nd August 2023 VJ Board Pro and Lining Boards are two wall panelling mouldings that you can purchase from Intrim. Outwardly these two products might look very similar but we’re here to help you learn more about what these products are as well as where to use them and the pros and cons of each. VJ Board Pro Lining Board What Is VJ Board Pro? Intrim VJ Board Pro are a large sheet product that creates VJ wall panelling, which are profiled with a v-groove that provides the same look as VJ tongue and groove lining boards in one simple-to-install sheet. THe product is also known as V-Groove Wall Panelling, VJoint Panelling and many other similar names. Made using general purpose Moisture Resistant Medium-density fibreboard (MDF) VJ Board Pro sheets are fitted together using the tongue and groove method that allows joining between the studs. The hidden joining system is a plastic polymer tongue designed to allow quick and smooth joining and is removable to minimise wastage. Lining Boards are a type of timber board for wall panelling that feature a tongue and groove that slides together to create a solid wall. It can be applied vertically and crowned with a chair rail for a Beadboard wainscoting look or applied horizontally for a shiplap look. It can also be applied to ceilings and alfresco areas. It can be made in raw and primed FJ Pine and raw and primed MR MDF. Intrim has six types of Lining Boards available, all with different designs to achieve different styles in a home. The Pros & Cons of VJ Board Pros: Available in 3.6-metre sheets that are ready for installation. Intrim VJ Board Pro sheets are more durable and versatile than plasterboard and very cost-effective due to their relatively low installation costs when compared to plaster. The face of the sheets on the Intrim VJ Board Pro is coated and sealed with a superior quality Readi-coate primer so you need only apply your selected paint topcoats. The primer is applied mechanically to ensure even and uniform thickness over the surface, giving you the best finish available. Cons: Made from MR MDF means we don’t recommend using in any wet areas or for any outdoor applications e.g., alfresco area. VJ Board The Pros & Cons of Lining Board Pros: Available in multiple sizes and material types making it very versatile. Available in 6 different designs.
