Vivacious Victorian Flair
The Victorian style originates from the mid 19th century when Her Majesty Queen Victoria was crowned Queen of Britain. In times past, Victorian styled homes were occupied by well-to-do, active society members, who often threw dinner parties and wanted a home to impress – and this modern Victorian designed home created by KELA Building Group is certainly awe inspiring.
When styling a Victorian-esk home you would expect to see ornately designed and overstuffed furniture (think plump, button back chairs, pouffes and ottomans), a dense arrangement of ornaments and furniture, Mahogany timbers on furniture, chiffoniers and sideboards and the use of rich, dark colours, typically in ruby reds, forest greens, violets or cobalt blues. Heavy damask patterns are common along with the use of peacock feathers, and inspiration from their colours. Wall paper was extremely popular, and patterns were used from the skirting board to the dado line and vibrant paints were used above the chair rail line.
Intrim provided significant internal and external timber mouldings for this eclectic home. No detail has been overlooked and the use of Intim’s mouldings helped pack a punch to achieve the desired look.
This home is extravagant and magnificent and we could not be more proud to have shared this interior journey with our client.
