Intrim’s natural timber hand rails are suitable for a range of residential stair rail and balustrade projects and commercial applications, particularly hospitals, health and aged care facilities and shopping centres.

Intrim® IHR09 is available in 135mm, 185mm wide and 32mm thick and crafted in a range of timbers and finishes including FJ Pine, FJ Pine Primed, Precoated Vic Ash, Vic Ash. Intrim can also clear coat finish, helping save additional time required on site for painting and drying.

IHR10 Handrail System

The Intrim IHR10 Handrail System is an elegant handrail system utilised in a large variety of health facilities. It also doubles as wall protection from traffic including beds and trolleys. Finished with 3 layers of a hard wearing coating makes for a durable, robust and hard wearing handrail and wall protection system with a unique wall fixing system for ease and speed of installation. Intrim IHR10 handrail system can be supplied cut to length ready to install, making for further time savings on site.

IHR09 Handrail System

Intrim® IHR09 is similar to Intrim IHR10 Handrail, however, is thinner being a 32mm thick handrail, while IHR10 is 40mm thick. IHR09 features a curved provide shape at the bottom of the rail, while IHR10 is flat.

Both are available in 135mm, 185mm wide and crafted in Victorian Ash / Tasmanian Oak complete with anti-microbial, triple clear satin coating.

Matching timber return bends are available.

IHR09 230mm

IHR55 Handrail System

Intrim® IHR55 is similar to Intrim IHR9 Handrail, however, is thicker being a 40mm thick handrail, while IHR9 is 32mm thick. Both IHR55 & IHR09 features a curved provide shape at the bottom of the rail, while IHR10 is flat.

IHR55 is only available in 185mm wide and crafted in Victorian Ash / Tasmanian Oak complete with anti-microbial, triple clear satin coating.

Matching timber return bends are available.

Timber Hospital Handrail Bends

Timber hospital handrail bends are pre-formed timber returns to the wall at the termination of the handrail with a stainless steel transition.

Intrim IHR10 & IHR55 handrail bends are available as left-hand and right-hand return bends. Only available in precoated Victorian Ash timber.

Timber LED Handrail System

Anti Ligature Handrail

Intrim’s natural timber IHR39 anti ligature handrails is suitable for mental health and hospital applications where there is a risk of ligature. 

  • Suitable for 9C compliant facilities. 
  • Compliant with the Australian standard AS1428 1-2009. 

These handrails are designed to be fixed using a bracket that runs continuously along the full length of the handrail, without leaving a gap, to reduce ligature risk. The rounded handrail top provides comfortable and substantial support and safety for users, and the clear-coated option is hygienic and easy to clean. 

The use of timber enhances the look of its surrounding environment and doubles as wall protection from traffic and wheeled beds. 

Intrim® IHR39 is available in 145mm wide, 44mm thick at the top, 55mm thick at the wall mount and has a wall projection of 91mm. Crafted in Clear Precoated Vic Ash and raw Vic Ash timber. The clear coat provides antimicrobial protection as well as helps save additional time required on-site for painting and drying. 

 

Bump Rail

We understand the dilemma health and aged care developers, architects and interior designers have in striving to create a welcoming, homely and less clinical interior, so Intrim created a range of natural timber and bump rail, crash rail and wall protection to help achieve the goal of creating something beautiful. 

Our bump rail and wall protection systems are beautiful, functional and ready for installation upon delivery to the site. We have created a unique secret fixing system that speeds up installation and conceals fixing to the wall. Easy to maintain and resilient to impact for beds and other traffic. 

Intrim’s crash rail is compatible with our Intrim® IHR10 Handrail System which can be used as a dual rail with both a mid and base rail for wall protection only.

The Intrim ConnectaRail is a unique and time-efficient system that is suitable for a wide range of applications including 9C compliant aged care facilities, hospitals, medical clinics, and some commercial projects. It reduces the dependency on staff and carers by offering a handrail system that increases aged care residents’ confidence and motivation to stay active and mobile. The Connecta Rail is supplied with Intrim’s ready-to-install, Anti Microbial clear pre-coated system which requires three coats of clear lacquer sanded between each coat. This not only saves wet trade time but offers an antimicrobial coating in facilities where bacteria and health are paramount. Very few companies coat it like us and ease of install of grub grooves and process to install is a lot quicker than other products on the market. This system is also able to protect walls from beds and traffic, doubling as a wall protection. If the product was to get damaged, we can offer touch ups or recoats. We use a product called cabothane to do any touch ups.
