Top 10 Skirting Board Profiles of 2021

Our 2020 top 10 skirting boards article was so popular that we’ve brought you the 2021 trends update to keep you inspired for the year ahead. The renovation boom of last year has continued into 2021 while many of us continue to spend more time at home. We have come to notice the finer details in our interiors and the huge impact they have on how our rooms feel. It’s the finishing aesthetics such as timber skirting boards, architraves, and decorative inlay mouldings, Wainscoting and VJ Board Pro that make a huge impact. They turn a house into a home, and a bland commercial space into a desirable place to be. It was no surprise when pulling together this year’s Top 10 that we see the continuation of Hamptons styling and Modern Contemporary, however, French Provincial has made a resurgence, as more decorative mouldings with large curves and fine detailed finishes come into play.

TIP – Love this profile but on a tight budget? We have the profile in smaller depths, which will achieve a similar look, with a smaller price tag.

This modern contemporary profile makes our top 10 for the first time as a popular choice for complementing a Modern Contemporary / Art Deco style while also looking great in Hampton interiors with a more modern or coastal twist. It features a unique profile set where the 185mm high is used as a skirting board and the 90mm is used as an architrave. This is due to the precise placement of the shoulders and rebate in the profile being the same size to give the perfect, balanced look. This profile is 18mm thick which gives it the chunky square look.
