Edwardian & Georgian Architraves
Georgian architraves were heavily influenced by classical architecture and boasted formality, straight lines and fine details. Curves in profiles were kept to a minimum and cross heads were frequently seen above doorways.
Edwardian style architraves have a similar feel, where small detailing is present but there are large flat areas. Architraves and mouldings during this period became more simplified and progressed to a lambs tongue look.
